Authentic and inspiring listening episodes– adapted to your level
Learning a language is about more than understanding grammar rules. It is about being able to follow authentic speech, understand different ways of speaking and learn to talk about topics that are interesting and enjoyable.
With Premium, you get access to carefully created content that helps you develop your Norwegian listening skills step by step.
Learn Norwegian in a way you actually enjoy
My goal is to make learning Norwegian something you look forward to – not just something you have to do.
Language learning takes time, and motivation matters. You are much more likely to continue learning when you enjoy the content you listen to.
That is why I create episodes that are personal, interesting, and connected to real life. You can learn while going for a walk, cooking dinner, commuting, or relaxing at home. You do not need to sit in front of a screen unless you want to.
I also try to speak in a clear and natural way, so that you can follow along even when you do not have the transcript in front of you. The goal is to help you gradually build the confidence to understand Norwegian in real situations.
Learn from natural Norwegian
The starting point for many episodes is natural, spontaneous Norwegian – the way people actually speak in everyday life.
I talk about topics such as:
everyday life in Norway
Norwegian culture and traditions
opinions and reflections
interesting words and expressions
language details that I find fascinating
I then create adapted versions of the same content, making it possible for learners at different levels to work with the same topic.
At level A0, for example, the sentences are shorter, clearer, and spoken more slowly, while still maintaining a natural intonation. There are longer pauses between sentences, and each sentence is translated into English before being repeated in Norwegian.
At level B2, you get authentic, natural speech in both østlandsk and bergensk (my own dialect).
For every level, you'll find a transcript with key words and expressions highlighted and translated below. You might also get explanations, along with recommendations for grammar and vocabulary episodes that complement the content. Each episode comes with an optional video, allowing you to follow the transcript as you listen if you wish.
For some learners, it may be possible to start at A0 and work through every level up to B2. For others, it's better to focus on just one or two levels. It's entirely up to you to find what works best!
Created by a Norwegian teacher who knows the challenges
I have been teaching Norwegian privately since 2014, and I know the challenges learners face. Before that, I lived in France and learned French as a second language. I know how tough it can be to learn a second language as an adult!
I know which sounds are difficult, which grammar points cause confusion, which words are easy to misunderstand, and what students need in order to move from "I understand some Norwegian" to "I can actually follow conversations and take part in them without feeling selfconscious."
